The Ichigaya Tramlink (Chinese: 市谷电车链接) is a tram system operated by Ichigaya Tramlink Company (Chinese: 市谷伦敦电车连线公司). The onboard announcements are done by Kaoshiung tram enthausiast Leo Xiao (for Chinese) and BBC News reader (and tram enthausiast) Nicholas Owen (for English). The announcement pattern is as follows: 这种电车,路线5是小田原新町。下一站将是北千里。 (Leo Xiao), This tram, route 5 is for Odawara-Shinmachi. The next stop will be Kita-Senri. (Nicholas Owen)
In 1998 the company name, Ichigaya Tramlink Company, took over Ichigaya Corporation Tramways.
Past Routes
The routes U, 4, 4A, 5A, 6A, 7A, 9A, 13, 15, 16 and 19 were no longer in use.
Route U existed from 1991 to 2001.
Route 4 (and 4A) existed from 1926 to 1943, when the route was destroyed by war.
The A-suffixed routes, 5A, 6A, 7A and 9A are used for the winter, weekday and holiday service. Introduced in 1904 but later it become discontinued by 1939 due to the war.
Route 13 existed from 1947 to 2007.
Route 15 existed from 1922 but discontinued by 1940 due to World War II content involving Nazis. Route 15 was later for use in heritage tramways, along with route 18 in 2012.
Route 16 existed from 1942 to 2013, when it was replaced by a bus route.
Route 18 was never made because of a bus accident in 1984. So route 15 and 18 are now a heritage tramway routes.
