Police Attacks

In 2011, police attacked his residence and fired around 60 rounds. In addition, they planted a gun to justify the drive and arrest. He escaped unhurt and casualties were not reported. Political leaders condemned the attack.

According to Mridha, this was done in order to prevent him from running in next regional elections. Although the officers admitted that police raided the residence in the early hours of the morning, they denied allegation of planting arms or firing weapons. Earlier, he had claimed that his life and those of his supporters were under threat before the coming elections, as the members of the ruling party (Awami League) were harassing through the police and local administration.

RAB raids

In April 2012, The Mridha family claimed that the Rapid Action Battalion, the nation's elite military force entered the family residence. Although the team came to recover arms from the area, local people under Ibrahim Ali thought that the force was to arrest him. As a result, a large number of them encircled the law enforcers and baricaded the highways and riots followed, while once again he escaped unharmed.
