Ibrahim Bin Faisal Al-Haidos, (Arabic ابراهيم الهيدوس ), born 25 December 1986 at Doha, Qatar. Al-Haidos is a senior projects engineer and an MEP engineer at the Qatar Foundation.

Education and career

Al-Haidos attended the Omar Bin Al-Khattab Scientific School. He graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2009 with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.), in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. From 2010 to 2011, he attended the Boston Architectural College and focused on Sustainability Studies. From 2015 to 2016, Al-Haidos attended the HEC Paris, the école des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Paris, and graduated with a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Business Unit Management. Al-Haidos presently works as a MEP engineer, Capital Projects Directorate, at the Qatar Foundation and also holds the position as senior projects engineer. Prior to these positions, he held the position as senior MEP engineer with the Qatar Foundation.

Solar Smart Grid Project

Al-Haidos worked on Solar Smart Grid Project as the MEP engineer and project manager. The Qatar Foundation initiated one of the first Energy Monitoring Centers in the Persian Gulf region for the Education City solar energy initiative as part of the Solar Smart Grid Project. According to Al-Haidos, the Solar energy monitoring system will benefit Qatar.

“Qatar is part of new thinking in making the entire region seek alternative, environmentally friendly, renewable energy sources, and, therefore, it has drawn up an ambitious plan to install 1.8GW of solar capacity by 2020.”

In remarks to the organ of the Qatar Foundation (QF), The Foundation, Al-Haidos remarked:

“Sustainability is a cornerstone of the mission of QF, and to achieve true sustainability, strategic thinking and vision is essential.”

    For the QF Tram system, Al-Haidos worked to build a sustainable future through innovation, commitment, strategy, engagement, and helped to pioneer the QF Tram system as a source of pride for the community. The first trams for Qatar Foundation arrived in Doha in 2015.
