History
iQuate was founded on 22 May 2002, and its initial products were:
In 2004 eManageIT began trading as iQuate as they started selling to the US market. The name change was to avoid a possible conflict with a company which had a product called E Manage (in a non-related space) which was sold in the USA.
The Audit Manager product was renamed iQNetScan and the Network Manager product was renamed iQRMS (Remote Managed Services) when the company renamed.
In 2009 iQuate started to focus on the needs of large Enterprise and released a product called iQSonar. Over time this replaced iQNetScan and iQRMS was retired – leaving iQSonar the sole product of the company. iQSonar is a cross-platform, agentless inventory tool which embodies iQuate's DIME methodology. DIME standard for Discovery, Inventory, Measurement and Extensibility. iQSonar focused on server and data center environments including complex areas for license metrics such as databases and virtualisation platforms.
In 2010 iQSonar became the first tool ever verified by Oracle LMS as providing data suitable for use in a license review. The verification means that if customers choose to share data from iQSonar with Oracle's LMS team during a license review Oracle will accept the data as being equivalent to data provided from their own tools.
In 2013, iQuate released Version 3 of their iQSonar solution, which broadened the offering to provide a Scan Engine, Data Warehouse and Reporting Functionality, with the ability to integrate iQSonar data into upstream third-party Asset Management tools.
in 2016, iQuate released Version 4 of their iQSonar solution, a new platform that focused on the dependency mapping functionality to support IT Cloud Migration & Infrastructure Management, while continuing to support upstream IT Operations & Service Management tools like ServiceNow, etc.
Locations
iQuate has its headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, with European sales offices in London, Paris and Munich. In the USA, iQuate's regional headquarters is in San Francisco, with support and services operations based out of Orlando, Florida.
Oracle
In July 2010 iQSonar became the first tool ever verified by Oracle LMS as providing data suitable for use in a license review. The verification means that if customers choose to share data from iQSonar with Oracle's LMS team during a license review Oracle will accept the data as being equivalent to data provided from their own tools.
Microsoft
In July 2011 iQuate was selected as a Finalist for the Software Asset Management Innovation Partner of the Year award for 2011. This award is part of the Microsoft World Partner Conference (WPC) conference. The award is a global partner award and was the first and only time a non-Microsoft inventory software tool was selected as a Finalist. This is notable as Microsoft has tools which are often seen as partially competitive (such as MS SCCM). In reality as SCCM is agent based and focused typically on Microsoft desktops, it is not really a competitive tool.
Computerwoche
German Computerwoche (Computer Week) Magazine shortlisted Ralf Weißbeck from Deutsche Post DHL as a CIO of the year nominee. The nomination related to a project for Cost and Price transparency in IT – Mr. Weißbeck mentioned iQuate as one of the critical tools used in the success of this project.
