Their exact identity is unknown as they only show themselves disguised with masks and ninja-like outfits. Some believe they are Denmark based, others presume they are from Germany.

In contrast to most mash-up artists iPunx perform their music live - using traditional rock instruments as well as electronics and computer.

Their first release iPunx - Mashups Vol. 1 in 2005 was a surprise club hit in the United Kingdom as it was no. 3 in Pete Tongs Buzz Charts, mainly because of their track "2 hives crew" using an old 2 live crew song "one and one" as well as the hives "hate to say i told you so" and four-on-the-floor beats.

The second release iPunx - Vol. Deux featured the "Enter Sandman" riff of Metallica mixed with Superchumbos dance hit "Revolution" - creating "Enter The Revolution". This was a big success especially in Germany where they topped both DDC and DCC charts. Unlike other party mashup releases they were heavily played by house djs all over the world.

They recently produced a third EP iPunx - Vol !!! - followed up by their first album Destroying Dancefloors as an internet-only release. Similar to works of 2 Many DJs and DJ Dangermouse they created a 44-minute mix of seamless music, sampling more than 50 bands and artists, with an evident affection for the clash of guitars and club sounds.
