Admission
Admission is given on the basis of the rank obtained by the candidate in SEE-UPTU (Uttar Pradesh State Engineering Admission Test). This exam is conducted by Mahamaya Technical University(erstwhile UPTU). Around 250,000 students appear in this exam every year seeking admission to more than 500 engineering as well as management colleges affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University.
Some seats are also available by direct admission, for which a student has to apply directly in the college.

The Department of Biotechnology was established in 2002 with an Undergraduate programme in Biotechnology. A Master’s course in Biotechnology was initiated in 2010. The department is actively engaged in research in a number of areas. However, it has consciously taken a decision to strengthen research activity in the area of Environmental Biotechnology with a view to develop practical solutions to environmental problems faced by industries and the municipalities. Environmental Engineering is a major challenge to Biotechnology because of the global concern for environmentally sustainable development.
