The new 16-acre campus designed by an internationally known architect has aesthetic exteriors, wide-open spaces and large well-appointed classrooms, syndicate rooms, multi-use auditoriums, state -of-the-art Library & Computer Centre along with a fully equipped MDP Centre. IMI, Bhubaneswar commenced classes for the first batch of PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management) approved by AICTE in August 2011. The institute is known to carry out research and development and Management Development Programme (MDPs) activities in association with various companies.
Shri. Sanjiv Goenka (Chairman of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group) is chairperson of IMI, Board of Governors and there are many other notable personalities associated with the institute. Prof. Ramesh Behl is the current Director of the IMI, Bhubaneswar. It offers admission through CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT examinations.
History
The first IMI business school campus was set up in Delhi in 1981. It was in 2010 that this RP-SG Group B-school decided to start two new IMI campuses in Bhubaneswar & Kolkata. International Management Institute (IMI), Bhubaneswar commenced the classes for the first batch of PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management) approved by AICTE on August 2011. The new campus of IMI at Bhubaneswar is dedicated to develop socially sensitive, ethical, value adding leaders and organizations through relevant teaching, research, training and consulting that serve stakeholders' interests.

1. Teaching
The two year, full-time post-graduate diploma programmes is designed to prepare students for career in industry, across functional areas of management. The emphasis is on developing a holistic manager with a vision to take on the challenges of the future. Whereas, Post Graduate Diploma Programme for Working Executives, targeted to expose the students to cutting-edge managerial concepts and tools & techniques through formal management education.
2. Training
Main objective is to enable the managers to improve managerial skills and to take up leadership roles. IMI-Bhubaneswar offers Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for executives at all levels in Corporates, Government & non-Government sectors.
Two types of MDPs are offered by the institute:
