The IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society is a professional society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The society's Field of Interest, according to its website, include metrology, analog and digital electronic instruments, systems and standards for measuring and recording electrical quantities (in both the frequency and time domains), instrumentation and transducers for measurement of non-electrical variables, calibration and uncertainty, instruments with automated control and analysis functions, safety instrumentation, and new technology applications.

Contents

Purpose

To foster and promote:

a) the advancement of the theory and practice of electrical and electronics engineering, the allied branches of the engineering profession and the related arts and sciences;

b) the advancement of the standing of its members;

c) the continuing education of members;

d) the compliance with the standards of ethical and professional conduct as set forth in the IEEE Code of Ethics, the IEEE Bylaws, and the IEEE Policy and Procedures Manual; and

e) the close cooperation and exchange of technical information among members and with other professional societies and individuals who share common interests, as set forth in the Society's Field of Interest.

Fields of Interest

The fields of interest include metrology, analog and digital electronic instruments, systems and standards for measuring and recording electrical quantities (in both frequency and time domains), instrumentation and transducers for measurement of non-electrical variables, calibration and uncertainty, instruments with automated control and analysis functions, safety instrumentation, and new technology applications.

Publications

The IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society publishes the I&M Magazine and the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM).

Conferences

The Instrumentation & Measurement Society flagship conference is the International Instrumentation & Measurement Conference (I2MTC).
