ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu (ICTACT) is a not-for-profit autonomous organization focusing to improve the quality of students passing out of institutions in Tamil Nadu, to make them industry ready and immediately employable in the ICT industry comprising the ICT services and the ICT manufacturing sectors. This will meet the skill requirements of the industry and generate more employment in the state especially in tier 2/3 cities.

ICTACT is governed by an autonomous Board of Governors with representations from the state Government of Tamil Nadu, leading companies in the ICT industry with presence in Tamil Nadu, and NASSCOM.

ICTACT is a pioneering venture under the Public - Private - Partnership (PPP) model that endeavours to train the higher education teachers and students in the areas of Information & Communication Technology, thereby making the students industry ready.

ICTACT is also established in Pondicherry (Also known as Puducherry).

Institutional Membership

ICTACT invites higher educational institutions (Engineering Colleges, Arts & Science Colleges and Polytechnics) to be a part of this initiative thereby benefiting the Faculty Members and Students through various initiatives of the Academy which includes Faculty Development, Training Programs, Skill Development Initiatives, Research , Industry - Institute Interaction etc.

School Membership

The ICT Academy school membership program is dedicated to improving the 21st century teaching and learning in schools by disseminating knowledge, create products, implement practices and for effective learning at schools in collaboration with the Industry. ICT Academy contributes to School Empowerment through its training, services, events, workshops, competitions and online learning for the school teachers and students. This membership model is professionally designed and developed to help K-12 educators to get the most from innovative technologies and empower schools. This is an annual membership program that aims at developing excellence in Schools.

Corporate Membership

ICTACT invites corporate bodies to be part of this initiative. As a corporate member of ICTACT, the corporate will have reach, networking and close linkage with the Academic in the state of Tamil Nadu,. ICTACT's innovative approach has a focused objective of helping corporate to increase efficiency in terms of identifying right entry level manpower, decreasing hiring costs, decreasing entry level training costs and improving effective Academic interaction for corporate.

Government Initiatives

ICT Academy has been implementing various projects for both the Central and State Governments. Having developed its training capabilities, ICT Academy has been servicing the Government Departments on providing training to its employees specifically in the areas of ICT and e-Governance. ICT Academy has been involved and is part of various Government Projects.

Publications

ICTACT Journals are peer reviewed International Journals published quarterly. With the objective of creating Indian-based Journals of International quality and to build up local research content, ICTACT Journals exists for the purpose of providing a quality peer-reviewed platform for Scientists, Researchers, Academicians and Engineers who carry out their original research. The Journals will highlight the continued growth and new challenges in both basic research and application development.

Faculty Development Program

ICTACT Faculty Development programs encourage faculty members to gain knowledge on the subject areas and provides innovative approaches to develop the right pedagogical tools for the teaching - learning process. The program aims to raise the quality of the teaching process of the faculty members.

Faculty Empowerment Program

ICTACT is implementing a range of training programs in focus with enhancing the skill set of the teachers in the K-12 sector.ICTACT Faculty Empowerment programs encourage faculty members to gain knowledge on the subject areas and provide innovative approaches to develop the right pedagogical tools for the teaching - learning process. The program aims to raise the quality of the teaching process.

Skill Development Courses

ICTACT provides skill development courses on information technology, english and soft skills, electronics, core engineering, retail, hospitality and banking & finance courses.

Entrepreneurship Development Program

ICTACT help the students to develop entrepreneurship skills through the ICTACT Innovation and Incubation center. ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu focuses on an effective model that assists students to start successful businesses in a financially viable manner. These graduates create jobs, revitalize communities, commercialize new technologies, and create wealth for local and national companies. This model will play a vital role in shaping up more entrepreneurs. Nurturing the seed of entrepreneurship among students not only further establish the faith in the mind of the student but will also make the institution proud of its achievement.

Campus Placement Facilitation

ICTACT has conducted various off campus activities for IT/Non IT/ BPO companies across India. The long standing association with more than 350 member educational institutions across the state of Tamil Nadu enables a facilitation of campus recruitment process efficiently and professionally. ICTACT provides support corporate in its pre-campus, on-campus and post-campus recruitment stages.

ICTACT Bridge

ICTACT BRIDGE conference, a unique initiative of ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu (ICTACT), aims to bridge the industry – academia gap. ICTACT BRIDGE® is a platform for all the stakeholders to discuss on improving the industry-institute interaction primarily on the key issues that includes the role of technology, innovation, applied research, entrepreneurship, future virtual world, curriculum change, industry expectations, skill development etc. It is an opportunity for both industrialists and academicians to share their thoughts, ideas and ways for preparing academic campuses to deliver high value industry relevant output.

ICTACT BRIDGE has become a platform for Schools, Colleges, Corporate & Govt to develop the next generation professionals of our country together. This conference is supported by Government of Tamil Nadu. Started in the year 2011, the conference has been receiving an overwhelming response from all the stakeholders of the knowledge ecosystem.

ICTACT Conclave

ICTACT has been conducting various conferences, conclaves and seminar addressing both Academic and corporate in the state. Every event is planned with specific focus area and shall address the key issues and challenges in today’s context.

ICTACT Power Seminar

POWER SEMINAR is a series of half- day seminar, featuring multiple tracks with noted speakers offered at several locations on highly technical issues or to teach the fundamentals of a specific application to pre-final / final year engineering / Arts & Science graduate students across the Tamil Nadu. At each seminar, expert speakers will give an informal talk about the research cum latest development happening in the field, which has direct cum indirect impact on the business. This will be followed by activities of questions/suggestions/brainstorming.

ICTACT Awards

ICTACT intends to encourage the schools, teachers, faculty in higher education sector that has effectively used ICT tools in education. Through this initiative, ICTACT elevates a platform for all higher education faculty members across the country, to showcase their best teaching practices using ICT tools. This scheme endeavors to identify the best practices in teaching using ICT tools and the faculty members who have implemented them. The awards categories of ICTACT are:

ICTACT Student Innovator Award

ICTACT Student Innovator Award that encourages, recognizes and rewards the students of Engineering, Arts & Science, and Management streams, for their ideas and Innovation in science, Technology and management. This initiative is a platform for all the students across the country, to showcase their innovation and inventions. This scheme endeavors to identify two innovators in each category, identified by the expert panel shall be awarded in ICTACT Bridge - The largest Industry-Institute Interaction event of India.

ICTACT Academic Partner Excellence Award

ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu identifies the top 5 member institutions every year and awards them for outstanding partnership in achieving academic excellence for their active participation in the initiatives of ICTACT in redefining excellence. The top 5 member institutions selected by the award committee will be awarded and showcased in the compendium.

ICTACT Best Coordinator Award

The Award is an initiative to recognize 5 of ICTACT member Institution coordinators for their active participation in the initiatives of the Academy. ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu (ICTACT) invites its member institutions to send in their nominations for the ICTACT Best Coordinator Awards.

Best Tech School Award

ICTACT announces "Best Tech School Award" award for schools with good use of technology to support teaching, learning and school administration. ICTACT calls for nomination from schools wanting to demonstrate both effective and mature use of technology. Objective of the award is to recognize and encourage best ICT practices by public and private schools in India and to create a network of schools with innovative ICT practices and share their experience and promote good practices

Through this initiative, ICTACT elevates a platform for all teachers across the country, to showcase their best teaching practices using ICT tools. ICTACT Youth

ICTACT Youth is an initiative of ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu to encourage youth students to express their talent. ICTACT creates a platform for the youth and support their ability to succeed in the career. ICTACT Youth includes Youth Circle, Youth Summit, Youth Contests and Youth Connect.

ICTACT Youth Circle

Effective communication is essential in today's society. English, as a language needs to be practiced, apart from being learnt. ICTACT Youth Circle wish to educate numerous students on career based communication skills and offer them, a platform to practice speaking. ICTACT Youth Circle's mission is to help people to improve the skills of speaking, listening and thinking, through a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment. Every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth. ICTACT Youth Circle involves providing opportunities for youth to practice English speaking skills by sharing the experience, reflecting on the speech, connecting it to real life examples, and applying the knowledge that results to other situations.

ICTACT Youth Summit

ICTACT Youth Summit is a series of youth development conferences hosted by ICTACT which is a platform created for the young Indian students to come together and get inspired to prepare themselves for the next generation. Today’s Youth are looked up to fit the slices of the pie in a proper proportion by getting themselves empowered with relevant skills, be innovative, communicate better and emerge with leadership capabilities to effectively lead the future, thereby contributing to the development of the new India.

ICTACT Youth Contests

ICTACT Youth Contestss is a student competition devoted to bring out inspiring ideas among students in the colleges in form of talks and presentations. The two major competitions are Youth Talk and Youth Present. ICTACT Youth Talk is a student contest initiated by ICTACT devoted to bring out inspiring ideas from college students in the form of highly effective and inspiring talks. ICTACT Youth PRESENT is a student contest initiated by ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu devoted to bring out the effective presentation and communication skills in students through their inspiring presentations on the topic of their passion presented for 10 minutes midst the peers using 20 Slides.
