Hysitron information video

Hysitron is a nanomechanical test instrument manufacturing and testing company. Hysitron has been designing, testing and building instruments for the scientific community since 1992. Hysitron is most noted for being the pioneers of in-situ imaging with nanoindentation and nanomechanical property measurement capabilities.

Contents

Hysitron has instruments located in university, corporate and government laboratories across the United States and throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The standard Hysitron instrument offers normal forces up to approximately 10 mN and is capable of lateral force testing. Hysitron offers a number of options on most platforms which can increase the normal force up to about 10N.

History

  • 1992 - Founded
  • 1996 - TriboScope® product commercialized to provide nanoindentation in-situ SPM imaging on existing atomic force microscope platforms
  • 2000 - TriboIndenter® stand-alone nanoindentation instrument introduced
  • 2004 - Ubi™ stand-alone nanoindentation instrument introduced
  • 2006 - nanoTensile 5000 instrument introduced
  • 2009 - performech® DSP control unit introduced
  • 2009 - TI 950 TriboIndenter® with performech® control unit introduced
  • 2009 - TI 750 Ubi™ with performech® control unit introduced
  • Started Indian operations as Hysitron nanotechnologies Indian Pvt Ltd from Trivandrum
  • 2014 - TI Premier® introduced
  • Software

Hysitron builds and tests software for its instruments. TriboScan™ is the standard software package that is equipped on most instruments for data collection and analysis. Software packages built and tested by Hysitron include:

  • TriboAnalysis™ - advanced analysis software for nanoindentation, nanoscratch, nanoECR and nanoDMA data files
  • TriboScan™ - standard data collection and analysis software
  • TriboTC™ - temperature control stage operational software
  • TriboView™ - *.hdf image viewer for in-situ SPM images
  • Modulus Mapping Analysis - analysis software for modulus mapping data files
  • Nanomechanics Testing Laboratory

The Nanomechanics Research Laboratory at Hysitron offers analytical nanomechanical and nanotribological testing services to both the industrial and academic nano-community. The nanomechanics research laboratory maintains an inventory of several TriboIndenter, Ubi and TriboScope systems and works with users to develop testing routines and applications for materials.
