Hylarana maosonensis is a species of frog in the Ranidae family. It is found in the mountains of central and northeastern in Vietnam, Annamite Range in Laos, and southern Guanxi, China. Its common name is either Mao-Son frog or Maoson frog, after its type locality in Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical evergreen forests where it can be found from leaf-litter banks and in shallow water along rocky streams. Reproduction takes place in pools and slow moving streams in forest. It is a locally common frog that is not considered threatened by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
