Christopher Dooley, Jr. was born on February 27, 1989, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He attended Huntington High School, until he has decided to dropped out of high school to pursue his career in rap.

2007–09: 51/50 Ratchet and Unleashed

Chris' commercial debut single, called "A Bay Bay" was released on April 10, 2007. The song was produced by Phunk Dawg.

On August 8, 2007, Chris released the second commercial single, called "The Hand Clap". Phunk Dawg produced the track as well.

On August 17, Chris released his first full-length mixtape, called Louisi-Animal. The mixtape includes a remix to "A Bay Bay" that features guest appearances from fellow American rappers The Game, Lil Boosie, E-40, Baby, Angie Locc and Jadakiss.

On October 23, 2007, Chris released his major-label debut album, 51/50 Ratchet. The album debuted at number 24 on the US Billboard 200, selling 26,000 copies in the first week.

"Halle Berry (She's Fine)" was released as the first single for his upcoming project on March 3, 2009. The song features guest vocals from fellow local rapper Superstarr, who also produced the track, alongside production duo Play-N-Skillz, and Q Smith.

"Headboard" was released as the second single for his upcoming project, which would be his upcoming second album, on September 8, 2009. The song features guest appearances from American singer-songwriter Mario and fellow American rapper Plies, with production by The Inkredibles.

On December 21, 2009, Chris released his second album, Unleashed. Unleashed did not chart internationally. However, the record peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and number 20 on the US Billboard's Top Rap Albums charts, respectively.

2010–16: Departure from Polo Grounds and J

In 2010, there are reports that Chris left the Polo Grounds and J Records.

Chris released the first promotional track, called "Bend It Over" as a single on March 12, 2012.

On January 2, 2013, Chris released his seventh full-length mixtape, Caniac independently.

On May 11, 2014, Chris released a DJ Mustard-produced track, called "Ratchet" as a single. The song features guest appearances from fellow American rapper Lil Boosie.

On August 21, 2015, Chris released the second promotional track, called "Sections" as a single. The song features guest appearances from a American rapper and singer Ty Dolla $ign, which once again was produced by DJ Mustard.

On September 4, 2015, Chris released his eighth full-length mixtape, Hurricane Season independently.

2017–present: King Cane and other projects

Chris announced that he will be releasing his newest project, titled King Cane on March 7, 2017.

Personal life

In an interview with The Advocate's Samantha Morgan, Chris stated that the name "Hurricane" came from his ability to be rapping fast, while he'll be twisting some words, which inspires from some of his lyrics such as "like a hurricane that just blown through".
