Hungerfield Lands as Part of the Newbold Revel Estate

Creation of the Hamlet

Prior to this the area had operated the open field system Open field system of which there is much evidence remaining. Many of the surrounding fields have much of the traditional ridge and furrow pattern Ridge and furrow surviving under the current pasture. The first written record of Hungerfield as a place comes from a survey by The Oxford Canal Company Oxford canal in 1829.
