Location
The burial site is located between East Hill and Huguenot Place in the London Borough of Wandsworth. It is located next to St Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church. The railings surrounding this little park were replaced in 2003.
History
The burial site was opened in 1687 and closed in 1854. It was mainly used for Huguenot refugees who had fled to Wandsworth. There are a few monuments left. On the north side of the cemetery is a pedimented memorial with an explanation of the burial site, although it has become practically illegible. In 1911 a memorial was erected to the memory of the Wandsworth Huguenots (Photograph of the memorial on the Geograph website).
Nickname
The Huguenot burial ground is also known as Mount Nod Cemetery, not to be confused with the Mount Nod sub-district of Eastern Green.
