Hugh Fortescue (2 June 1665 – December 1719) was a British politician.

Family
Hugh Fortescue was the first son of Arthur Fortescue (died 1693) of Penwarne, Mevagissey, Cornwall and Buckland Filleigh, Devon, and Barbara Eford of Sheepstor, Devon.
He married Bridget Boscawen (died 1708) on 19 October 1692. The only child (out of eight sons and two daughters) to outlive her father Hugh Boscawen, (1625–1701); she brought money with her marriage increasing Fortescue's fortune. Bridget's mother Margaret was the daughter of Theophilus Clinton, 4th Earl of Lincoln, and was one of the coheirs of the Barony of Clinton upon the death of the 5th Earl in 1692.
They had four children:
After Bridget's death, he married the Honerable Lucy Aylmer, the daughter of Matthew Aylmer, 1st Baron Aylmer (circa 1650–1720).

Politics
He represented five boroughs in Cornwall from 1689 to 1713. They were Tregony, Grampound, Truro (did not sit), Mitchell and Lostwithiel. Fortescue was not prominent in the House of Commons being jailed for absent on two occasions and as well as a number of non-attendances.
