The startup offers a range of financial products, including car and travel insurance. Its launch coincides with the Australian Federal Government's introduction of the 'regulatory-sandbox' to encourage the development of FinTech companies in Australia.

History

Huddle was founded in June 2016 by British expats Jonathan Buck and Jason Wilby with the aim of challenging traditional banking services in Australia and providing educational financial tools for consumers.

Huddle is based on the concept of the peer economy, where it aims to reduce the cost of financial products such as loans or insurance in Australia through its rewards-based platform and future peer-to-peer lending and insurance services.

In November 2016 the company dropped the term money from the brand name to become known as Huddle.

Funding

Huddle is a privately owned company and recently raised $6 million from investors, including Richard Enthoven, in its first funding round.

Media

Huddle has recently featured in the Australian Financial Review and in Australian FinTech.
