House Resolution No. 535 is a resolution introduced by Rick Saccone to the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives on January 23, 2012 "[d]eclaring 2012 as the "Year of the Bible" in Pennsylvania." HR 535 passed through the Pennsylvania House with a unanimous vote on January 24, 2012.

Controversy

House Resolution No. 535 conflicts with Article I, Section III, in the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania which states: "[...]no human authority can, in any case whatever, control or interfere with the rights of conscience, and no preference shall ever be given by law to any religious establishments or modes of worship."
