1994

Hostile City Showdown (1994) was a supercard that took place on June 24, 1994 in the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. The announcer for the event was Joey Styles.

The main event of Hostile City Showdown 1994 was a heavily promoted "dream match" between the hardcore wrestlers Cactus Jack and Sabu. Cactus Jack, an employee of World Championship Wrestling and then-WCW World Tag Team Champion, participated in the event as part of a talent exchange brokered between ECW and WCW by Todd Gordon and Kevin Sullivan. Cactus Jack suffered herniated discs during the match and subsequently developed hives over fifty percent of his body; he was briefly hospitalized. The bout appeared on the 2007 WWE DVD release Mick Foley: Greatest Hits & Misses.

1995

Hostile City Showdown (1995) was a supercard that took place on April 15, 1995 in the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. The announcer for the event was Joey Styles.

The event saw the incipient feud between Raven and Tommy Dreamer develop, with Raven delivering a promo in which he revealed that his girlfriend, Beulah McGillicutty, had been spurned by Dreamer at a summer camp as a teenager and had now aligned herself with Raven to seek revenge. During the bout between Raven and Dreamer, Beulah interfered on Raven's behalf and was given a piledriver by Dreamer. Dreamer later described the match as the first time the ECW fans "truly accepted [him]".

Hostile City Showdown (1995) also saw The Sandman challenge Shane Douglas for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. Earlier that month, The Sandman's valet, Woman, had turned on The Sandman, aligning herself with Douglas. During the bout, Woman struck Douglas in the knee with a Singapore cane while he was applying a crossface chickenwing to The Sandman, enabling The Sandman to pin Douglas and end his year-long title reign. Woman then reunited with The Sandman, revealing her alliance with Douglas as a ruse. Following the match, Douglas donned a Monday Night Raw t-shirt and insulted the audience, reflecting his imminent departure from ECW to join rival promotion the World Wrestling Federation.

During the main event bout between, Terry Funk and Cactus Jack (Mick Foley), a member of the audience held up a sign reading "Cane Dewey", a reference to Foley's infant son. Foley channeled the event during his heel turn later that year.

1996

Hostile City Showdown (1996) was a supercard that took place on April 20, 1996 in the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. The announcer for the event was Joey Styles.

Prior to the main event of Hostile City Showdown (1996), Shane Douglas revealed to Tommy Dreamer that his girlfriend, Beulah McGillicutty, was not pregnant as she had claimed and was in fact cheating with him. After Dreamer demanded to know who Beulah was cheating on him with, Douglas' valet, Kimona Wanalaya, revealed it was her and then kissed Beulah. Dreamer then declared, "I'll take them both on, I'm hardcore!" and kissed both Beulah and Kimona. After the kiss between Beulah and Kimona aired on ECW Hardcore TV, ECW's syndicated television series, numerous networks, including MSG and Sunshine Network, dropped the series on the basis that ECW had violated their content standards.
