Early life

Hossein Alam-alhoda was born in 1958 in Ahvaz, Iran. He was raised in a religious family. His father, Ayatollah Morteza Alam-alhoda, had a great influence on Alam-alhoda beliefs and attitudes. Alam-alhoda began reading the Koran when he was 6 years old and was able to teach at age 11. He joined the opposition movement against the Shah when he was just a high school student. He was arrested by SAVAK for the first time at age 16 and was tortured. In 1977 he was admitted by Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in his favorite subject, history.

Before Islamic Revolution

When he was a university student in Mashhad, he attended Ali Khamenei and Ayatollah Hasheminejad preaching meetings in KERAMAT mosque. When he returned home to Ahvaz, Alam-alhoda and his companions distributed Ruhollah Khomeini's flyers. After years of unrest, they decided to start a war against the Shah and his regime. They formed the MOVAHHEDIN organization. they could assassinate POUL GRIM (American advisers and representatives of the consortium and Senior Manager of operation and production of south region oil), lieutenant general JAFARIAN (the head of army forces in Khuzestan Province) and also GHOLAMHOSSEIN DANESHI (MP of Abadan, Iran).

After Islamic Revolution

In the first days of the Islamic Revolution, Ahvaz police station was captured by Alam-alhoda and his companions. They also managed to capture a garrison in ahvaz and arrest many of regime's military commanders. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Alam-alhoda dissolved the MOVAHHEDIN organization. He believed that all the independent groups should be dissolved and be mixed with people.

He was a member of council constituting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Khuzestan Province. He focused on the cultural parts in IRGC and tried to teach the Koran and Nahj al-Balagha to militaries. He wanted to strengthen the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' religious perspective.

Death

In Operation Nasr, Alam-alhoda who was the commander of Hoveyzehs IRGC and his companion, because of Abolhassan Banisadr's betrayal, were besieged by Iraqi tanks. Although they destroyed several tanks, all of them were ultimately killed. Iraqi tanks drove over and flattened the dead bodies, so that no trace of them remained. 16 months later, Iranian forces regained the region. They searched for the body of Alam-alhoda, but after 16 months, they couldn't locate it.

They finally recognized his body by the copy of the Koran he had in his pocket. He was buried exactly where he had been killed.
