Hollywood in Vienna is an annual film music gala taking place in the Vienna Concert Hall (Wiener Konzerthaus), where the Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award is presented. Last "Hollywood in Vienna" concerts took place on 13th and 14th October 2016.

Overview

In the course of each Hollywood in Vienna concert, one of the world's most renowned film composers is honored by the City of Vienna and his or her work performed by the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO). The gala concert was initiated in 2007 by Sandra Tomek, B.O.F.M. Best of Film Music, and has since then been produced by B.O.F.M. and Echo Medienhaus and co-produced by Michael Balgavy.

Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award

The „Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award“ is a symbol of recognition by the City of Music, Vienna, for extraordinary achievements in the film music genre. The award reminds of the Viennese film music pioneer Max Steiner, who went to Hollywood in the 1920s.
