Hol is a former municipality on the island of Vestvågøya in Nordland county, Norway. Hol comprised the southeastern part of the present-day municipality of Vestvågøy. The main church for the 67-square-kilometre (26 sq mi) municipality was Hol Church in Leknes.
History
The municipality of Hol was established on 1 July 1919 when the eastern part of Buksnes municipality was split off to become the new municipality. Initially, Hol had a population of 2,272. On 1 January 1963, the municipality of Hol was merged with Borge, Buksnes, and Valberg to create the new municipality of Vestvågøy. Before the merger, Hol had a population of 3,154.
