According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.3 square miles (91.4 km²), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 594 people, 170 households, and 146 families residing in the town. The population density was 16.8 people per square mile (6.5/km²). There were 182 housing units at an average density of 5.2 per square mile (2.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 97.64% White, 0.00% African American, 1.18% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.84% from other races, and 0.34% from two or more races. 1.35% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 170 households out of which 44.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.5% were married couples living together, 5.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.1% were non-families. 10.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.49 and the average family size was 3.77.
