HitBTC is a Europe-based cryptocurrency exchange, founded in 2013. Launched as a Bitcoin exchange, it soon started listing alternative cryptocurrencies, and currently provides trading markets for almost all popular digital currencies (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Monero, Dash, etc.).

HitBTC provides services for individual traders, and allows other companies and services to access its facilities via API.

The HitBTC trading platform is known for its advanced matching engine and multi-currency support. Besides trading between cryptocurrencies, HitBTC provides proper markets for exchanging cryptocurrencies for fiat currencies, namely USD and EUR.

HitBTC provides support for the FIX Protocol, which is quite uncommon for cryptocurrency exchanges.

History

HitBTC development started in 2013 with a 6 million euro venture investment agreement, as of the collaboration between software developers, finance professionals and experienced traders.

On February 14, 2014 HitBTC was officially launched, introducing BTC/USD, BTC/EUR, LTC/USD and LTC/EUR markets.

May 6, 2014, the company launched new features: Demo trading, which helped beginners to gain valuable experience, and allowed skilled users to test out their robots on the demo platform. HitBTC also introduced a new order terminal which featured two types of orders: market and limit.

During the summer 2014, more trading pairs with altcoins were added, including DOGE, XMR, NXT, BCN, QCN, FCN.

On September 9, 2016, HitBTC added support for Emercoin (EMC), opening EMC to BTC exchange market.

Markets

Being a multi-currency exchange, HitBTC provides a number of cryptocurrency markets paired with BTC. Most popular digital currencies are also paired with EUR and USD.

Terminal

HitBTC provides a responsive terminal, which allows users to trade any of the HitBTC currency pairs. The terminal has all needed features, and gets updated in real-time.

Demo trading

HitBTC provides Demo trading, which can be used by novice traders to gain valuable trading experience, and gives them an opportunity to learn exactly what HitBTC has to offer. At the same time, it allows skilled users to test out their robots on the demo platform and judge for themselves of the high quality of this feature.

Fiat operations

Besides exchange operations between cryptocurrencies, HitBTC accepts EUR and USD deposits, allows fiat withdrawals, and provides a number of cryptocurrency-to-fiat trading markets.

Security features

HitBTC provides 2-step verification for all users via Google Authenticator (login and withdrawals).

Recent activity chart is shown at the bottom of the settings page, in order to notify if someone is attempting to access or has accessed a user's account maliciously.

HitBTC uses cold storage to keep all users' funds safely.

Options for Market Makers

HitBTC offers monthly market-maker contracts with the following conditions: cash incentives, rebate bonuses.

Market makers are provided with detailed daily performance reports, which helps for building trading strategies.

    One of the most remarkable features of HitBTC is support for the FIX protocol.

    HitBTC supports FIX protocol via two types of interfaces:

  • FIX Trading end-point: interface for trading (placing new orders, order status requests, execution reports, order cancellation)
  • FIX Market data end-point: interface for market data subscription.
  • Affiliate program

    HitBTC provides a partnership program. Every user can become an affiliate partner by creating unique referral links and referring visitors to HitBTC. An affiliate partner can promote the link itself or add it to HitBTC price widget and put it on their website, blog, or service. Affiliate partners earn commissions from each trading operation done by referral traders.

    HitBTC has a CryptoCoin Price Ticker widget that can be added to a site, blog or article.

    The widget displays the current price on few trade pairs from HitBTC, current ask and bid, and 24 hour value.
