Hirsh Agarwal is an American software engineer/entrepreneur and the co-founder of the software firm H2 Micro.

Early life

Hirsh Agarwal attended Berwick Academy where he joined at the age of six. He continued to go here throughout high school. At the age of eight, he co-founded the website computershack.org with Hersh Bhargava. Later they decided to create a new business writing professional software, H2 Micro.

First ventures

Agarwal's first business venture was computershack.org, a website co-created with Hersh Bhargava. The website served little purpose, but was a distribution platform for their first computer software. Some of their first products included Echo Browse, a web browser originally created to compete with Internet Explorer. Computershack was also their first foray into medical software. Computershack included the first release of Medical Checklist. This initial version was written primarily for Windows PC and was written entirely in Visual Basic. Although it had little functionality it was a precursor to the next version of Medical Checklist that was released in late 2013.

H2 Micro

Hirsh is currently serving as a key executive at the software engineering firm H2 Micro. At the company Hirsh focuses on development using PHP, Java, C++, Python and Assembly. He is experienced in 3D animation and design using 3Ds Max, boujou, Mudbox and various other tools. He generally takes charge of server development, back-end creation, high level data structures and Windows Development.

Agarwal worked on producing Medical Checklist at H2 Micro, an iPhone app that is designed to make work in various medical field more efficient and reliable. The app is currently available on the iOS app store. The company has received criticism for not releasing a version for Android. Though this has been acknowledged by Agarwal, no such version has been released thus far. Medical Checklist has become increasing popular within the medical community, however is no longer the current focus of the company.

Along with the larger project, H2 Micro has recently been releasing free libraries for consumers. Originally most of the libraries were designed for internal use, though they are slowly being developed and released to the public. The newest library is HUtility, a java library designed to add additional functionality to Java. The second is their iPhone SQL kit. This is a kit designed to help users communicate with iOS devices via a PHP bridge without a PHP server. Agarwal also made a software for DNA compression, and it has been developed, but it is not available as of now.

After creating multiple applications for various medical fields the company has stated that they will be expanding into other industries. Along with H2 Visual, they may be able to expand into many niche markets other than medicine.

Academic Distinctions and Awards

An active member is his scholastic community Agarwal has a number of awards and maintains and over his duration at the school has received many distinctions. Most notably in 2011 he was on the Maine Odyssey of the Mind team which won the world championship in Maryland. He has been an active participant in the Berwick Academy Model United Nations club, in 2012 winning a verbal commendation from Phillips Exeter, and in 2013 winning honorable delegate. He also recently was chosen for the position of co-leader of the club for Berwick Academy. He has also been active in the public speaking community, in 2013 winning 4th place at his school and going on to win 2nd place at the county level. Along with these more academic achievements Hirsh is an active member of the community. He has been involved with student government for many years, and currently is one of his class representatives, and also holds a position on the honor committee. Recently Agarwal was elected to be the 2014-2015 Student Body President of Berwick Academy.

Video production

Alongside H2 Micro Hirsh Agarwal co founded H2 Visual, a visual production company. The company works to create high quality videos for corporate advertisements and entertainment. The company has been working recently to utilize their advanced computing power to render photorealistic images for virtual product demonstrations.
