Hiran (Bengali: হিরণ) is an Indian film actor, writer, singer, producer and itician.
Hiraan, a versatile Bengali film actor, has showcased his talent through all kinds of films starting from romantic to comedy and even action. The variety tells enough about his versatility. His Nickname is Papai. He resides in Kasba, Kolkata . Hiraan was born from a financially challenged family in Uluberia, a sub-divisional town of Howrah, where he has spent his entire childhood days. He was from a very poor Family. He lost both of his Parents at a very early age. After spending 14 academically brilliant years in Uluberia, he started living in Maniktala Ashrom (a spiritual hermitage or a monastery) in Kolkata for his survival. While he was studying English (Hons.) in the evening Classes from Rabindra Bharati University, during the day time he started working for a shipping company. With his aspiration of becoming an actor he took the brave step to relocate to Mumbai, and started working at Reliance Industries to support himself financially. Parallelly he did Management in Logistics & Supply Chain and Law in Customs. There after he left his Senior Manager's Job for becoming an actor as soon as he got his break-through in 2007 for the Blockbuster Hit movie Nabab Nandini
His first role as a leading character was in the 2007 Bengali movie Nabab Nandini, directed by Haranath Chakraborty, opposite Koel Mallick. The film was a success and established Hiran as a popular face in the top league of Tollyville. After becoming a star with his first film, he did not sign up for other films until he won the roles in Bhalobasa Bhalobasa and Chirosathi. Bhalobasa Bhalobasa became a hit and people started calling him the Chocolate Boy. Thereafter he got critical plaudits for his characters in Jackpot and Risk. His role in Macho Mustanaa converted him from Chocolate Boy into the "macho" guy. He is known now as the "macho hero" of Tollywood and he achieved "eight packs" for this film. Le Halua Le became a hit, and his come back movie Majnu also received a great response.And his last film Meher Aali is hit. Everybody have a great response for this film
Hiran married Anindita on 2008. They had been in a relationship for four years before that, but both of them had decided to keep their relationship away from the glamour world of Tollywood.
He released a music video album, Bindaass, in which he and his wife sang and acted. He also wrote the story and script of a feature film Doshomi, directed by Suman Moitra and starring Koel Mallick and Bollywood star Indraneil Sengupta.Best Action Hero Award from Anandalok for Nabab Nandini

He is actively involved with his NGO group called “Voice Of World” and he is a regular contributor there. He believes in social work in true sense. His awareness made him pledging to donate his eyes even at this young age. He is the only actor, who had physically gone to Sundarbans, after the Cyclone Aila, in 2009 with ample of food, clothes, medicines, drinking water etc. He is the man who is behind the visually, mentally & physically challenged downtrodden children of the society.
Hiraan is very active in politics for the betterment of the society. He had been to events with our Honorable Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee. Looking at his hard work and dedication towards the society, Hiran has been given the responsibility of the working president to All India Trinamool Youth Congress & selected as the Coordinator of Maharashtra Pradesh Trinamool Congress.
