Before forming a band, they had been friends for awhile. They would all go to their local skate-park to skate and chat with each other. Louis and Spencer were originally in a band together. Then Cody joined their first band practiced, where the song "High Tide" was created. They noticed that they would need another guitar in the band, so that led Connor to be in the band too. Thus, the band High Tyde was formed in 2012. The band's name was inspired by Noel Gallagher's song, "The Death of You and Me". The lyrics that spoke to them was "High tide, summer in the city" because of how Brighton is near the sea. Instead of the "I" in tide, they decided a "Y" would be better. They all have different musical inspirations from one another, but they all enjoy hip hop and electronic music. With their different inspirations, the lads were able to create a new, unique sound. Their future aspiration as a band is to simply play more shows, and to get a bigger band following.
