Herman Hu (Chinese: 胡曉明) (b. Feb 1954) is the Chairman of the Council of City University of Hong Kong. Hu is a Member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Hong Kong deputy to the 12th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China (NPC). Hu was one of the first Election Committee members to nominate Leung Chun-ying for the post of Chief Executive of Hong Kong. Hu is the head of Ryoden Development Ltd and is the son of Hu Fa-kuang.

In April 2014 it was reported that Hu is being sued by a former employee of City University of Hong Kong who is known to have previously brought 4 legal proceedings against the university, a former colleague there, the President of the university and Hong Kong's Electoral Affairs Commission respectively, for defamation for allegedly describing him as a "sworn brother" ("契弟"), a pejorative Cantonese term meaning "boyish male prostitute".
