Hebinomichi (Japanese for "the serpent's path") is an international music collective, record label and crew. Eschewing traditional label politics for a free-form, more immediate philosophy, their releases are all donation-based and freshly created - featuring artists spanning the globe. Building hype through their free compilations, each release features an extremely diverse mix of both genres and artists - some very established, others barely of drinking age. Aiming to mix visual art and sound with each release, their latest compilation brings this to light featuring a collaboration with digital artist Trent Kuhn.

History

Hebinomichi was founded in 2014 by Denver artist SteLouse and Detroit artist Ahh-Ooh. Originally conceived in a Chicago hotel room, Ahh-Ooh describes the night of inception as being "so stoked about the idea that we coated the room in leftover pork shoulder and hotel post-it notes". The many flavors of music featured can be crudely crammed under the umbrella of Future Bass, a genre described by one user of the subreddit as "a mix of trap, garage, 90s R&B, and video game music all in one song."
