Hayden Fitzwilliams (born January 31, 1975) is a Trinidadian footballer currently playing with York Region Shooters in the Canadian Soccer League.

Playing career

Fitzwilliams began playing football at the youth level with St Clair Coaching School in his native Trinidad. In 2002, he went abroad to Canada to sign with the Mississauga Olympians of the Canadian Professional Soccer League. He made his debut on September 8, 2002 in a match against the Metro Lions in a 2-0 defeat. He scored his first goal for the club on September 18, 2002 against St. Catharines Wolves, where in the match he further contributed with a hat trick with the game resulting in a 4-0 victory for the Olympians. Within five matches he would score six goals, and helped Mississauga finish second in the Western Conference, and clinch a playoff berth. He featured in the wildcard match against North York Astros, but were eliminated from playoff contention.

In 2003, he signed with Metro Lions, and scored his first goal for the organization on July 11, 2003 in a 1-0 victory over London City. The following season, he finished as the club's top goalscorer with nine goals, and helped his team reach the postseason by finishing second in the Western Conference. Fitzwilliams would sign with league giants Toronto Croatia in 2005. He made his debut for Toronto on May 29, 2005 against Vaughan Shooters. He finished as the club's top scorer with 8 goals, and finished second in the Eastern Conference. In 2007, he assisted in the club's playoff run by scoring goals in all three playoff matches which led to a championship title. His next championship run with the club was in 2011, where Toronto finished second in the overall standings . He recorded two goals in a 4-1 victory over Mississauga Eagles FC in the quarterfinals. In the next round he scored another goal in a 2-0 victory over York Region Shooters, which advanced Toronto to the finals. In the finals Fitzwilliams scored the lone goal which clinched his second CSL Championship in a 1-0 victory over Capital City F.C..

In 2012, he added more silverware to his portfolio by claiming the double with Toronto Croatia, by winning the Regular Season Champions, and his third CSL Championship.In 2015, he won his fourth championship after defeating SC Waterloo by a score of 1-0.The following season after the departure of Toronto Croatia from the CSL he signed with the York Region Shooters.

International career

Fitzwilliams made his national team debut on March 26, 2003 in a CONCACAF Gold Cup Qualifier match against Antigua and Barbuda. He would appear in the 2006 World Cup Qualifiers, and in total he appeared in five matches for his country.
