Haribol

The name of the group “Haribol Fiesta Philippines” was chosen because the group’s beneficiaries call them "Haribol”. This word is used by the group to replace greetings such as “hello" and "good day". “Haribol” is derived from Sanskrit. It means “Chant the Holy Name of Hari” or “Chant the Holy Names of God” and means “Hallelujah” in the Christian community. Greeting everyone with “Haribol” is a way of sharing the Holy Names of God to bring the recipient “ultimate goodwill”. In Tagalog, they translate it as “ Sumaiyo nawa ang pinakamasaya, pinakamaganda at pinakamagandang kalooban" (I wish you the Ultimate Goodwill!).
