Hargovind Laxmishanker Trivedi , better known as H.L. Trivedi, is an Indian nephrologist, the director of G. R. Doshi and K. M. Mehta Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre and a former member of faculty of B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad. He comes from Ahmedabad, in the Indian state of Gujarat, had higher training for two years in the Cleveland Clinic, in USA, and practiced for eight years in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. A routine visit to his native place is reported to have changed his focus and he stayed back in Ahmedabad to continue his practice in India.

Trivedi, who has published several articles in peer reviewed national and international journals, was honoured by the Government of India in 2015 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award.
