Happy TV (Serbian: Hеpi ТV) is a Serbian television network.

Contents

It launched on 28 June 2002 as a children's television channel before receiving a license in April 2006 to broadcast nationally in Serbia in a time-sharing agreement with TV Košava. In September 2010, TV Košava merged into Happy TV.

History

Happy TV was founded in 2002 as a children's channel. Initially, it covered only the area near Belgrade.

A joint bid of Happy TV and TV Košava won the national broadcasting license in Serbia at a public tender organized by the Serbian Broadcasting Agency in April 2006.

Happy TV operates out of its own 1,200 m² building in Zemun with a 300 m² TV studio and 50 m² recording studio. So far, Happy TV has produced over 3000 hours of cartoons and over 800 hours of documentaries, in the Serbian language.

In September 2010 a true fusion of the TV Košava occurred: the network ceased to exist, giving rights to Happy to broadcast 24/7: becoming the next network to begin 24-hour broadcast. The network is the only one in Serbia to contain a programming block: called Happy Kids. It is aimed primarily at children, airing from 10am to 1:55pm, with Happy airing from 1:55pm to 10am later in the day.

Entertainment

Internationally created shows created for kids and teenagers previously aired on Happy TV:
