Hans tholstrup sun shines the human travels


Hans Tholstrup (born 8 November 1944) is a Danish-born Australian adventurer who was the first person to circumnavigate the Australian continent in a 4.9 meters (16 feet) open boat. He also devised the concept of the World Solar Challenge, and became the first person to make a transcontinental journey in a solar-powered car when he crossed Australia in "The Quiet Achiever".

In 2014 he was awarded the "Lifetime of Adventure", the Australian Geographic Society's highest honour. In 1972, Tholstrup rode a motorbike across Australia from Rockhampton to Perth with minimal supplies and support.
