History

Before the merger of Hanover Schools and Horton Schools in 1958, each district was independent and possessed one elementary and one high school per each district. During the heyday of Hanover and Horton, this system was fairly efficient, while also meeting the needs of the students. However, as the populations of Hanover and Horton began to shrink, so did school enrollment. Ultimately, the two fledgling districts merged to become what we know today as the Hanover-Horton School District.

The Comets compete in the Cascades Conference with Michigan Center, Napoleon, Vandercook Lake, Addison, East Jackson, Grass Lake, and Manchester.
