Career

In 2001, after graduating from Tenafly High School, Hanan began working at Unique Recording Studios in Times Square as a recording engineer. In addition, he was attending the Conservatory Of Music at SUNY Purchase and touring as a guitarist with Leela James. At SUNY Purchase, Hanan met Anthony Parrino, better known now as Elite, who was working for Ruff Ryders Entertainment as a staff producer at the time. Hanan and Elite worked on lots of music while at school, and continue working together these days. Some of the more notable tracks they created together include "Shootouts" for Jadakiss and "Crooked Smile" by J.Cole.

In 2004, after graduating magna cum laude from SUNY Purchase and still playing with Leela James, Hanan began expanding his circle by doing some work with other artists such as Kanye West, Motown's Funk Brothers, Roy Hargrove and DMX to name a few. In 2005 while playing at Montreux Jazz Festival, Hanan met his future manager, which resulted in him moving to Berlin, Germany in 2007. In Berlin, Hanan recorded his own debut album, "The Year I Lived", and worked with other artists such as Willie K, Malakoff Kowalski and Iced Earth. He was also the chief engineer of "The HUB" studios. While in Europe, Hanan (as a solo artist) opened for some of his favorite acts including ZZ top, Chris Isaak, Jamie Cullum and Jeff Beck.

On December 19, 2011, Hanan and his management team parted ways and Hanan moved back to New York, where he immediately began working with Rita Ora as a guitarist and a vocal coach. After a long radio tour with Rita, Hanan was asked to join the Alicia Keys band, as the lead guitarist.

Some other notable artists that Hanan has worked with include Pharrell Williams, Bonnie Raitt, Carole King, John Legend, David Byrne, James "JT" Taylor, Keisha Cole, Nas, Ellie Goulding, Jadakiss, KRS-One, Roy Ayers, The Funk Brothers, Jeff Richmond, and Jennifer Hudson.
