History

Kumaran founded Halo Dogs in North London in 2009. He got the idea to start a dog day care centre when he was working as a part-time "re-homer" at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. In 2010 Halo Dogs became a limited company. In 2011 Halo Dogs won the Enterprise Enfield Start up Business Award, followed by the Business Of The Year Award in 2014. Halo Dogs is considered a top London doggie nursery. It operates on 540 acres of land and has a cageless environment where puppies and dogs are permitted to interact with each other, socialise and play under constant supervision. The facility contains play and agility equipment, splash pools, fallen logs, play kennels, lakes, colour televisions, outdoor and indoor play areas and chill-out facilities. The centre also has a "time-out" area for temporarily separating dogs that demonstrate inappropriate behaviour.

Other services

Since its founding, Halo Dogs has offered a variety of services including dog obedience and dog behaviour training, dog agility, dog boarding, dog walking, dog grooming, pet photography, animal ambulance and a dog rescue and re-homing service. It is also the main sponsor of the Animals-In-Distress Animal Refuge in Málaga, Spain.

Charity work

In addition to running its own self-funded rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing centre, Halo Dogs regularly supports other dog rescue charities including Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, The Mayhew Animal Home, Animals In Distress (A.I.D) and Pup Aid.
