Sum 41 half hour of power full album

Half Hour of Power is an EP by Canadian rock band Sum 41. It was released on June 27, 2000 on Big Rig Records, a subsidiary of Island Records (United States), and Aquarius Records (Canada). Some consider the album to be the band's first studio album. However the band claims that their next release, All Killer No Filler, is their first debut album. The cover features a man (Steve Jocz) without pants who is pointing a machine gun up in the air and is standing in front of an explosion in the background.

Music

Considered punk rock, skate punk and pop punk, the EP also uses elements of other genres as well. Elements of heavy metal music are featured in the songs "Grab the Devil by the Horns and Fuck Him Up the Ass" and "Ride the Chariot to the Devil", which were both compared to the band Iron Maiden. While "Another Time Around" was described as punk rock, the song's intro was described as "dirge-metal". The song "Second Chance for Max Headroom" sounds like the band NOFX and is known for having a ska part. The song "Dave's Possessed Hair/It's What We're All About" is known for having a part with elements of hip hop music. Elements of hardcore punk are also featured on the EP. Described as Oi!, the track "T.H.T." is considered the most punk rock track on the EP.

On the iTunes edition of this EP, "Another Time Around," is only 3:22, unlike the physical copy which is 6:52.

Inclusion on other records

The song "Makes No Difference" was released as a bonus track on All Killer No Filler in the UK only. And a re-recorded low-pitched version is featured on All The Good Shit.

The song "Dave's Possessed Hair/It's What We're All About" was redone as "What We're All About" for the Spider-Man soundtrack.

The song "Summer" was re-recorded for All Killer No Filler in 2001.

The album's first track, "Grab the Devil by the Horns and Fuck Him Up the Ass", was renamed to "Grab the Devil" on the band's 2006 live album, Go Chuck Yourself (released under the title Happy Live Surprise in Japan).
