A tribute to hailey college of commerce
Hailey College of Commerce is a constituent undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate college of the University of the Punjab in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Established on March 4, 1927, it is the oldest specialized institution of commerce in Asia. It was first situated on the university's old campus and was relocated to its new campus in 1981. The college serves approximately 3000 students with a permanent faculty of 37.

History
The faculty University of the Punjab first recommended the creation of a degree-conferring commerce program in 1922, and the 1923 establishment of the Northern India Chamber of Commerce at Lahore generated an increased need in the region for commerce graduates. Sir Ganga Ram donated Nabha House, his residential facility situated opposite the grounds of the University and proximate to The Mall, for the exclusive use of a college of commerce, and construction was completed in 1927; the institution began instruction later that year and was chartered to provide sound education and training in commerce. The college relocated upon the expansion of the University and was officially opened on the University's new campus on January 1, 1981. College has also build a new block for the growing number of students a few yards away from the old block.
Facilities
The college houses a library of 6,048 square feet (561.9 m2) with updated books and environment that holds more than 100,000 books on all fields of commerce and business.
The higher education commission of Pakistan has approved that B.Com (Hons.) from Hailey College Of Commerce is also equivalent to master's degree (M.Com).
Presently the College is offering admissions to B.Com (Hons), M.Com (1-1/2 and 3-1/2 years), M.Phill leading to Phd, Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting (DCMA),Diploma in Entrepreneurship Development (DED) and PhD in Commerce
Faculty
The Principal & Dean of the College is Prof. Dr. Hassan Mobeen Alam, the full faculty comprises thirty seven members together with a large number of visiting faculty having degrees in commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Law, and Social Sciences.
