History

The bank was founded in 1967 with a capital investment of Swiss Francs 2 million (approximately US$2 million). Habib Bank AG Zurich developed hPLUS, one of the world's first Java banking systems, using Java and Sybase ASE. The bank has been named as a finalist for the 21st Century Achievement Award from the Computerworld Honors Program for its use of information technology in the Finance, Insurance & Real Estate category.
