HD 173936 is a 6th magnitude star in the constellation Lyra, approximately 1200 light years away from Earth. It is a bluish white star of the spectral type B6V. It is therefore a dwarf star, like our Sun, with a surface temperature of 11,000 to 25,000 kelvins. It is at least twice as hot and many times brighter than the Sun.
