Early life
Gyant was born Lloyd Thurston Dinwiddie on September 26, 1979 in Lakewood, New Jersey. From a young age, he traveled the world, living in Germany, Japan, Guam and Spain because of his military parents.
Career
Inspired by Wendy Williams (media personality), Gyant, relocated to Atlanta where he created O1LT.com. His success with the blog led to a position at SOHH in 2006. While working at SOHH, Gyant landed interviews with Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Flo Rida Bernice King and Cornel West. His exclusive stories have been posted on top sites and publications including Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Mediatakeout.com and Perez Hilton. Metromix Atlanta named Gyant a Top Tweep for July 2011. In 2012, he worked with CNN on a story about diet companies targeting men with marketing efforts.
Gyant Unplugged
After leaving SOHH in 2009, GyantUnplugged.com was launched. In 2010, he helped BET launch their online forum, where he blogs about celebrity gossip, private events and exclusive videos. He was the first independent blogger to obtain his own blogspace on BET. He provides radio commentary for V-103 WVEE and Hot 107-9 WHTA. GyantUnplugged.com was ranked on the list of XXL Magazine 100 Best Hip Hop sites. On Gyant UnpluggedTV, he has had exclusive interviews with Zac Efron, Goaple, David Banner, Estelle (musician), Killer Mike, Wendy Williams (media personality), and Dondria
Gyant Media
Gyant established Gyant Media in 2008. The company uses new media to do interactive promotion and marketing on the World Wide Web. Clients include Bobby Valentino, Rock City, Young Dre the Truth. He has also helped build internet presence for Gorilla Zoe and Asher Roth.
