Contents

Three singles were released from the album; the smash hit "Wait" about a lonely girl waiting for her first true love; "It's Alright" about emancipation from one's parents and the final single "Black Wedding Ring" which closes the album. The first two singles contained rare non-album tracks as b-sides ("Love in Question" and "Don't Touch"). Wait was co-written with Geoffrey Stapleton of GANGgajang and Garry Frost of Moving Pictures and 1927. Gyan re-recorded the song for her 2015 album This Girl's in Love.

The album received positive reviews from many critics who hailed Gyan as a new and unique talent to emerge from Australia; this was further cemented by Gyan's ARIA Award for Best New Talent in 1990. The album peaked at #27 on the ARIA Albums Chart, spent 29 non-consecutive weeks in the top 100 and was certified gold.

A couple of songs from the album were used in the 1990 Australian movie Weekend with Kate, starring Colin Friels and Catherine McClements.
