Gunhild Volkenborn-Kristensen (1919–2002) was a Dutch glazier, mosaic artist, painter and textile artist. She was born in Leiden as the daughter of the Norwegian church historian William Brede Kristensen and Jacob Heldring. Gunhild's first commission for stained-glass was in 1957 for a window in the St. Bavochurch.
Work in Rotterdam
Kristensen designed three windows for the St Laurens church in Rotterdam, but only one was executed, because she returned the commission to the church council when she heard they would have preferred that the artist was a man. In 2014 the church decided to commission the other two windows, the designs of which had been preserved.
