History

Guerrilla Cambridge was founded in 1988 as Millennium Interactive by Michael Hayward, Tony Beckwith and Ian Saunter. It saw success with the development of James Pond alongside two more sequels. Other games developed by the studio were Cloud Kingdoms, Horror Zombies from the Crypt, and Super Troll Islands.

On 4 July 1997, the Millennium development studio, along with several of the projects in development, was sold to Sony Computer Entertainment and renamed to SCE Cambridge Studio. 12 games were developed under this new name, which spanned across the first three PlayStation home consoles and the PSP. Among these were three MediEvil games, two for the PlayStation and one for the PSP. They also contributed to multiple other games including Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword and PlayStation Home.

In 2012, Sony Interactive Entertainment underwent a restructuring of their European divisions, and renamed SCE Cambridge Studio to Guerrilla Cambridge, making it a sister studio to fellow Sony-owned studio Guerrilla Games. Their first project under their new name was Killzone: Mercenary for the PlayStation Vita. Recently, they developed RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, which was a launch title for the PlayStation VR.

On January 12, 2017, Sony announced they were closing the studio.
