Gregory Sales, Ph.D., CEO of Seward Incorporated, is a designer and developer of technology-based learning materials.

Career

Sales was a professor of instructional design and technology at the University of Minnesota for a decade, from 1986-1996. Prior to that he was on the faculty of the University of Cincinnati during the 1985-1986 academic year. He received his M. Ed. at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota. In 1990 he founded the company that became Seward Inc.

Early in his career, Sales was an elementary school teacher in Alaska. He taught in at North Pole, Alaska (1974-1976), in the North Star Borough School District, and in the Sitka Borough School District (1976-1983). His classroom teaching included 3 years teaching in one-room schools.

Since 1995, Sales has worked on and managed educational technology projects in the Caribbean, Asia, the Pacific, North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. These projects have addressed issues of technology integration, teacher training, and student curriculum material development.

Sales is a frequent presenter on topics related to the use of technology in education in the U.S. and developing countries. He has published two books and numerous journal articles on education technology topics.
