Gregory Q. "Greg" Brown (born 1960) is an American businessman. He serves as chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola Solutions.

Early life

Greg Brown graduated from Rutgers University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1982. He graduated from Highland Park High School.

Career

Greg Brown is chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola Solutions, Inc. He joined Motorola in January 2003. In March 2007, Brown became president and COO and was elected to the company's board of directors. He then became CEO of Motorola in January 2008.

Prior to joining Motorola, he was chairman and CEO of Micromuse Inc. from 1999 to 2003.

Brown serves as chair of Skills for Chicagoland’s Future. Brown serves on the board of Xerox, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the Rutgers University Board of Governors, and The Chicago Club.

Brown was honored with the Daniel H. Burnham award in 2013 for Distinguished Leadership, and received the Chicago Leadership Award in 2014 from the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

Previously, he served as chair of the committee on Immigration Reform of the Business Roundtable, and served as a board member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago, World Business Chicago, and the Big Shoulders Fund.

He served as a member of President Obama’s Management Advisory Board, and on the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee under President George W. Bush.

He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Rutgers University.
