History

In 2010, Scott Sullivan first announced plans to open up Greenbush Brewing Company in downtown Sawyer, MI. The bar opened in June 2011 after Sullivan, and business partner Justin Heckathorn received their state liquor license.

In 2012, Sullivan released plans to add an outdoor patio area.

In April 2014, Greenbush announced that it had purchased a mobile food vending van. The van will be known as the brisket van, it will travel to various local companies around lunch time for employees to purchase many food items from. Greenbush also hopes to take it to a variety of weekend festivals that already feature their beer.

Taproom

The taproom is located at 5885 Sawyer Rd in downtown Sawyer, Michigan. Prior to it being Greenbush Brewing Company it has been a number of other businesses including a laundromat, plumbing shop, and a car shop. The beer is brewed onsite in a hand-crafted seven barrel kettle made by Fred Zaft.
