During 2000 decade, the Greek clubs accomplished to improve the place of Greece in UEFA ranking. Greece achieved to arrive until the 6th place and to assure six tickets in European competitions. For two seasons, Greece had three clubs in Champions league (in season 2002-03 and 2003–04). The most successful season of Greek participation was the season 2001-02, when Greek clubs concentrated 11.250 points. In contrast the least successful season was the season 2005-06, when Greek clubs collected 3.333 points.

The Greek clubs who played the UEFA competitions during decade were Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, AEK Athens and PAOK in the Champions League (all of whom also competed in the Europa League), and Aris, Panionios, Iraklis, Egaleo, OFI Crete, Larissa, Skoda Xanthi, Ionikos and Atromitos in Europa League.
The best performance was noted by Panathinaikos in season 2001-02 and 2002–03, when it arrived in quarter final twice.
