Early career

Abercrombie originally signed to the club in the mid-sixties as a quick and agile winger.

1967

Making his debut in the 1967 season it took him a year to cement himself as a regular first grader playing at fullback as opposed to being on the wings.

1968-1970

His finest season is widely considered to be in 1968 where he received many favorable reviews from many coaches and pundits alike, before hanging up his boots as a player at the end of the 1970 season.
