His 1993 play Sarajevo played at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith and, like much of his subsequent work, dealt with the political and social fallout from the division of the former Yugoslavia. In 2004 work Everyman also played at the Riverside and on tour with Theatre Melange, enhancing his reputation for uncompromising treatment of the themes of identity, cultural history and politics. He combines his writing with lecturing in Scriptwriting at Canterbury Christ Church University.
